Danine and I finally had time to sit and talk yesterday about everything wedding. From invitations to flowers, the ideas were all around us.

So for colors, Danine and Caleb will be having a deep red, burnt orange, deep green and golden yellow.

Below are some examples of those colors...
Red Pumps from Gabriella Rocha at Zappos

Can you imagine driving away in this Burnt Orange Lotus Elise S
"Sweetness"

Keira Knighley rocks this dress that is just the right shade of green.

This ring is sparkling with elegance and the golden yellow color is perfect.

So these are their colors, as the the final design details are decided on, I will post them.

From sophisticated to casual, these dresses are sure to be a big hit. Where you might ask are these dresses, JCPenney's. Yep that's right, they range from $29.00-$90.00.

If you can't find a color that you like but still love the price, you can have their bouquets add just the right look or even pair it with a super cute clutch, or broach, that can double as a gift.

Fresno Couple and Their Budget Wedding

It has been a few weeks since we talked about our Fresno Couple.
Just to give you an update...

The first location that they chose was pulled out from under them.

Yep, it was a surprise and a big disappointment. However they found a location that will suit them even better. They will have the ceremony and reception at the Hope Lutheran Church in Fresno. They have a beautiful sanctuary and a very nice community center on site. Now that the site is finally tacked down, next week Danine and I will meet to go over colors, food, invitations and some decor. So come back as we get into the fun part! Also, Caleb (the groom) is still in Iraq, so please say a prayer for him!

Fresno Couple and Their Budget Wedding

Yes, our couple is still deciding on location. One major concern is the guest count. So as they put their lists together they will have to trudge through the daunting task of who to invite.

For any budget it is very important to be realistic about how many guest you can accommodate. Below are some helpful tips...

  1. Make sure that you both agree on the size of the wedding. Whether small, large or something in between.
  2. Select a location which accommodates your budget and the size of event that you would like to have.
  3. If you have a parent or family members that are paying for the bulk or part of the wedding they will more then likely want to invite some of their friends. This is where you will have to tread lightly and communicate your thoughts and desires delicately.
  4. You have to consider on average you will spend any where from $90.00-$200.00+ per guest. Food, drinks, dessert, more drinks, and something pretty to look at on their table, the cost adds up fast. Lets be realistic, besides your wedding being a celebration of you as a couple and your new lives together your goal is to Wow and entertain your guests.
  5. There will be guests that you have no doubt about inviting but when you get down to the ones you are not sure of, think of this," are they important enough to me to spend x amount on them?" It may seem like a harsh question, however a realistic one. We all have many acquaintances, coworkers, people we go to church with and so on that would be easily weeded out by looking at their attendance from a different perspective.
  6. One other thing to consider is the ones that just should not be invited. Ex-girlfriends or Ex-boyfriends this is usually never a good idea. Friends or family that you or your fiance are estranged from. Children are another aspect. If your event is a mature adult party you want to make sure your guests now this. I do not recommend putting "no children" on the invitations, however you can address the invitations exclusively to the guests invited by listing them by name. You may also indicate on the reservation card how many places are reserved in their honor.
The guest list is always a big aspect of a wedding. It requires communication, delicate negotiation and assertiveness.
